A Venezuela e a Nicarágua são destinos possíveis para Edward Snowden.

Os presidentes dos dois países, Nicolás Maduro e Daniel Ortega, ofereceram asilo político ao fugitivo mais famoso do mundo, o antigo consultor da NSA procurados pelos Estados Unidos por ter revelado segredos sobre como os serviços secretos vigiam os cidadãos através da Internet.

Maduro oferece asilo, embora não haja ainda um pedido oficial à Venezuela. Já Ortega diz que foi feito um pedido à Nicarágua e o pedido será concedido, dentro do possível.

Mas o mais difícil para Snowden vai ser deixar o aeroporto de Moscovo onde está, com um passaporte que entretanto foi cancelado pelas autoridades americanas.

Na América Latina, cresce a raiva contra os Estados Unidos e contra os países europeus que recusaram do avião do presidente boliviano Evo Morales, depois de rumores de que Snowden poderia estar a bordo.

Morales ameaçou já fechar a embaixada americana em La Paz.
