Director of the Worldwide Distribution

General Responsibilities

The Director of the Distribution Service (H/F) is hierarchically attached to the President or the Managing Director. He (she) is member of the Executive Committee.
The post holder will have as their main mission the development of the worldwide of distribution of euronews in a range of time slots on satellite, cable, and Hertzian, and overall development of new and future media (Internet, ADSL, cellular phones).
They will also take part in the development of the budget of the Distribution department and will assure the correct use of its funds.

Main missions

• The management of a team of assistants of distribution
• The setting up of actions allowing the development of euronews’ distribution.
• Technological survey and monitoring of cable and satellite market evolutions.

The post holder must have a perfect knowledge of all aspects of the channel and be able to represent it and negotiate in an optimum way. They will make proposals to executive management in the choice of actions to be implemented to extend the distribution of euronews worldwide.

Management of the distribution team :

• The team is composed of assistants with responsibility for world zones
• Organization and planning of work
• Definition of distribution policy
• Control of the actions carried out
• Exchanging rising and downward informations.

Preservation and development of the distribtution of euronews

• Launching and development of Marketing strategy.
• Setting up of mailing campaigns
• Promotion of the channel to cable and satellite operators
• Representation of the channel at exhibitions and business events.
• Negotiation with cable and satellite operators to sell transmission space and increase distribution
• Follow-up of commercial actions

Main Qualifications

Work experience/ Education

• Education to master diploma level (BAC +5)(MBA)
• Excellent general knowledge
• Technical and legal knowledge of cable and satellite markets
• Perfect knowledge of the editorial and legal features of the channel to represent and negotiate the distribution contracts in an optimum way.
• Experience of team management and leading meetings

Location

The post is based in Paris and requires much international travel

UM JORNALISTA BILINGUE (M/F) DE LÍNGUA PORTUGUESA - Ref.JB/P/Brux e alguns jornalistas em regime de freelance
O trabalho é baseado em BRUXELAS (Bélgica)

O jornalista bilingue terá a responsabilidade da difusão de informação, garantindo a função de mediador entre um acontecimento, um facto, um assunto, ligado às temáticas europeias e o telespetador, em função das orientações da linha editorial.

PRINCIPAIS ATIVIDADES

• Cobertura regular dos assuntos ligados à atualidade das instituições europeias situadas em Bruxelas e acompanhamento da atualidade europeia.
• Organização da pesquisa documental em diferentes suportes - agências, jornais, internet ...
• Redação de textos
• Participação nos diretos relacionados com a atualidade quotidiana, assim como nos diretos organizados no quadro das operações especiais.
• Produção de entrevistas e reportagens
• Tradução de entrevistas eventualmente contidas nas peças jornalísticas ou durante os diretos.
• Gravação audio das peças jornalísticas
• Controlo permanente dos conteúdos em antena
• Adaptação dos textos para o suporte internet
• Deslocações eventuais a outros países europeus para a cobertura da atualidade europeia

REQUISITOS

• Licenciatura em jornalismo ou equivalente
• Experiência profissional mínima de quatro anos nos meios audiovisuais
• Bons conhecimentos de Inglês e Francês com valorização para uma terceira língua

PERFIL

• Bons conhecimentos dos assuntos europeus
• Cultura geral vasta e em permanente evolução para acompanhamento da atualidade.
• Capacidade para gerir imprevistos e definir prioridades em função da pressão da atualidade e dos acontecimentos e para apresentar propostas no âmbito da informação quotidiana.
• Capacidade para o trabalho em equipa e em interação permanente:
  Ao nível interno: o jornalista estará inserido numa equipa de jornalistas de diversas nacionalidades que efetuam paralelamente o trabalho nas respetivas línguas. Deve adaptar-se ao ritmo de trabalho desta equipa e das equipas técnicas.
  Ao nível externo : contacto com as agências de notícias, diversas instituições e parceiros.
