Emmys 2024: Shōgun e The Bear lideram as nomeações enquanto True Detective faz história

As nomeações para os Emmys de 2024 foram divulgadas na quarta-feira. Shōgun, da FX, lidera com o maior número de nomeações, 25 no total.

A seguir vem The Bear com 23 nomeações (um recorde para séries de comédia), Homicídios ao Domicílio (21), True Detective: night country (19) e The Crown (18).

Shōgun aproveitou ao máximo a ausência dos três principais nomeados do ano passado - Succession, The White Lotus e The Last of Us - para dominar a secção de drama. Com 93 nomeações, a FX, consegue assim um destaque antes reservado à HBO, que este ano recebeu 91 nomeações.

As nomeações da FX incluem as categorias de Melhor Série Dramática, Melhor Atriz numa Série Dramática (para Anna Sawai) e Melhor Ator (para Hiroyuki Sanada).

Shōgun abalou a corrida na categoria drama quando os criadores disseram, em maio, que apesar de terem chegado ao fim da história do romance de James Clavell, sobre as maquinações políticas no Japão do início do século XVII, iriam explorar a possibilidade de fazer mais do que uma temporada. Assim passou da categoria de minissérie para a categoria de drama, mais prestigiada.

As nomeações para The Bear incluem Melhor Série de Comédia e Melhor Ator numa série de comédia para Jeremy Allen White - ambos os prémios já ganhos na cerimónia de janeiro, que foi adiada pela greve, juntamente com Melhor Atriz para Ayo Edebiri, que já tinha ganhado anteriormente o prémio de Melhor Atriz Secundária.

Nos Emmys de 2023, The Bear e Succession foram os maiores vencedores, com o último a ganhar sete troféus e o primeiro a conseguir um total de seis prémios.

True Detective: Night Country continua a ser um dos destaques da HBO, que perdeu Succession (já terminou) e tem as séries The White Lotus e The Last of Us num intervalo entre temporadas. Esta série liderou todos os nomeados para minisséries ou antológicas com 19 nomeações.

A escritora e realizadora Issa López, que está ligada à quinta temporada da série antológica da HBO, descreveu a produção como uma "história divertida, sombria e marada".

"Estou muito entusiasmada com a nova temporada", disse à Variety, acrescentando que as nomeações para os Emmy a entusiasmaram a tornar a próxima temporada "ainda melhor".

True Detective: Night Country representa um marco importante para as estrelas desta série. Jodie Foster garantiu sua primeira indicação ao Emmy com atriz e Kali Reis tornou-se a primeira mulher indígena a ser indicada para Atriz Secundária numa Minissérie, ao lado de Lily Gladstone, que também foi indicada por Debaixo da Ponte, do Hulu.

D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, de Reservation Dogs, torna-se o primeiro ator indígena a ser reconhecido como protagonista com a nomeação para Melhor Ator numa Série de Comédia. O único ator indígena anteriormente nomeado, segundo a Variety, foi August Schellenberg, que recebeu uma nomeação para os Emmy em 2007 pelo seu desempenho como Touro Sentado no filme televisivo Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, da HBO.

A Netflix tem também uma dupla de concorrentes de peso, com Baby Reindeer a receber 11 nomeações, incluindo a de Melhor Ator para a estrela e criador Richard Gadd, e Ripley, uma versão a preto e branco do romance de Patricia Highsmith "O Talentoso Mr. Ripley", que recebeu 13 nomeações, incluindo as de Andrew Scott e Dakota Fanning.

A Netflix lidera todos os canais com 107 nomeações.
